INTERCOLLEGIATE HORSE SHOWS ASSOCIATION

​We compete for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) which gives opportunities to undergraduate college students to compete and ride at a collegiate level. We have a stock seat (western) and hunt seat (English) team that we take to 8 total competitions a year. Competitions are based on equitation (judging riders' performance on a horse vs judging how a horse performs). Competitions are held at local, regional, zone and national levels. To advance through riding levels, riders must collect a predetermined number of points in order to advance. For most levels except for the introductory (beginner) level, advancing to a higher riding level allows you to be eligible to compete in regional, zone and national competitions for the year, based on your placing.
